This represents a very small sampling of covers performed by
Native Tongue acoustically/unplugged from a gig at S.O.P's on Main Street,
Peoria, IL. They were recorded on a camcorder one very snowy
Wednesday winter night. I think it had snowed about 6" by 3am. Downtown
was barren - nobody wanted to travel in all the snow and be out so
late on a work/weekday. We practically had the bar to ourselves. Paid
practice, anyone? :)
This is a random sampling of songs - not a showcase of studio recordings of our
best work. I think I had a few beers in me to pass the time, too :)
Members in Native Tongue for acoustic sets: Justin Robbins (vocals, guitar),
Jeff Koski (vocals, percussion), and James Olsen (vocals, bass). We took turns
singing lead and backup. I played keys during our full PA "plugged-in" gigs,
but
learned (I use that term loosely) bass for our small acoustic endevors.
Because these were recorded via a camcorder, the lower frequencies are
weak (sounds a bit tinny). You will probably want to adjust your
bass/tone/equalizer to give the bass a boost.
MP3's from that video:
Greg (a friend) sneaking a whisper into the camcorder microphone when nobody was looking
Beatles: I feel fine
Jellyfish: Baby's Coming Back
Violent Femmes: Blister in the sun
The Refreshments: Bandios
